Libertarian drops out of District 42 race, endorses Republican

Hudson -- A Libertarian candidate running for state representative for the 42nd House District is dropping out of the Nov. 2 election and endorsing the Republican candidate.

John E. Hoover, who was running on the Libertarian party, said Aug. 23 that he has withdrawn his candidacy and will endorse Kristina Daley Roegner, Republican candidate for the same office. Mike Moran (D-Hudson) is the incumbent candidate.

"Our positions were pretty close, hers and mine," said Hoover, a Hudson resident. "It's going to be a close election between Moran and her."

Big Government Not Wanted Here

Nearly 1,000 people gathered on a cool Wednesday evening at Cascade Plaza for the second Akron Tea Party.

Speakers complained about big government, excess government spending, immigration policies and the direction America is headed.

It was the second party organized by the Akron group. The first was in Cuyahoga Falls in August and drew about 7,000.

Roegner to challenge for State House seat

Roegner said she would comment on her decision to run later this week when she officially announces her campaign.
