Kristina Daley Roegner for State Representative – A solution for Summit County

Hudson, OH– Unemployment is on the rise, but new responsible state leadership is on the way with Hudson City Council member Kristina Daley Roegner. Kristina today kicked off her campaign to represent the 42nd State House District in Ohio.

“I am pleased to hit the campaign trail to serve the people of the 42nd District, and I look forward to raising my commitment to public service to the next level,” Roegner said.

While serving as a city council member at large at Hudson City Council, Kristina served on the Budget Reduction Ad-hoc committee, which led Hudson City Council in 2006 to reduce the budgeted city spending and size of government. The budget and correspondingly, size of government was reduced by $2 million (approximately 10%) annually. It is exactly this financial leadership which is needed now in Ohio and Kristina offers just that.

Additionally, while on City Council she has called for increased transparency, by televising workshops and most recently to stream Council Meetings on the internet to ensure that the people of her community can be fully informed on local issues. Kristina is also currently a member of the Board of Directors at Seton Catholic School, which in 2009 was the recipient of the US Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Award for excellence.

Kristina was a field engineer and project manager for Westinghouse Power Generation Service Division where she was responsible for leading teams of 50-100 people in overhauling large turbines and generators at power plants across the country. After earning her MBA from the Wharton School of Business, She served as a management consultant for McKinsey and Company, a global consulting firm that advises the world’s leading businesses, governments and institutions on performance improvements and is currently a small business owner.

Kristina believes that government in Ohio has grown too big and spending is out of control. She is steadfast in her belief that BOTH must be reduced, and not just incrementally but fundamentally restructured, in order to have healthy state, one which attracts businesses. “With unemployment in Summit County at 10.8 percent, I am determined to do what it takes to bring jobs back to Ohio and to our community,” Roegner said. “Now is the time for responsible leadership; to encourage entrepreneurship, spur business growth, and move Ohio forward!”

Roegner earned her BSME in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and graduated cum laude in 1990. She also earned her MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Kristina invites everyone to visit her web site at www.kristinaforohio.com to learn more about her campaign and how to get involved so that together we can work to build a bright future for Ohio.
